These images were created to honor Haudenosaunee steel workers and construction workers. The tree of peace is our confederacy symbol and the weave design around the rim is a design used to convey unity and strength each line representing one of the six nations. The feathers on top resemble the headdresses wore by the men. Each nation has a certain amount to identify them starting in the west the Seneca people had one eagle feather straight up, next the Cayuga have one feather down, the Onondaga or central fire have one up and one down, the Oneida have 2 up and one down then the Mohawk have 3 up. The Tuscarora added to the confederacy later have no feathers on theirs.
